Orlando Wetlands Park is my favorite place to photograph Snowy Egrets. There's an open area of shallow water along the birding loop where they fly low over the water and pluck fish out of the water during flight. It's spectacular to see. Other herons try to do it too (in particular, Tricolored and Little Blue Herons), but they simply aren't as skillful as the Snowy Egrets. Sometimes at Orlando Wetlands Park, you can see 5 or more of them actively feeding this way, and sometimes it seems I could just sit and watch them all morning.

Of course, these birds are fun to photograph anywhere, and even when they're just standing by or in the water they're pretty fun to see.
Such graceful poses.. wobderful shots. Sometimes I think that just watching such a display shoukd be enough..but capturing & sharing makes it that much more speacial..
I have seen Snowy Egrets displaying this feeding behavior before. It really is quite fun to watch. Outstanding photographs of this stunning bird, Scott!
