This morning I joined the Orange Audubon Society's birdwalk at Mead Gardens; it was a pretty slow morning for the most part, but I did find several Indigo Buntings. While I was photographing them, I found my first Clay-colored Sparrow. So this alone made today a pretty good morning. However, other long-time birders of Mead Gardens tell me that this is the first sighting of a Clay-colored Sparrow at Mead Gardens, so for me this is pretty exciting--one of my better finds for the year. The sparrow stayed pretty far away from me, but these are the best shots I was able to get.
Congratulations on a new bird! It's still on my not seen list so I may have to brave the Interstate this week!
