Sunrise at Deep Creek Lake Before moving to Florida, our family used to go on an annual vacation to Deep Creek Lake in Western MD .  This part of Maryland to me has always been one of my favorite places for photography, and good photo spots crop up in even unlikely places.  One year I was driving down US Rte-219 and found a fantastic spot for sunrise photos [ map ].  If you're traveling south on Rte-219, pass Mayhew in Rd and then look to your left.  You'll see a small road that begins to parallel Rte-219.  From this vantage point, if you look east, you'll be able to see rolling hills (In Florida we'd call these mountains) and a little piece of Deep Creek Lake.
