Great Egret

Great Egret
Great Egrets are one of the many white herons/egrets that are commonly found in the U.S.  They are the largest of our white egrets, and they can be distinguished from the others by their yellow bills and black legs.  I seem to find them frequently with food.

    Maybe yellow bill and black legs? Gorgeous pictures. I wish I had had a video camera when I was watching a great egret try to eat a snake. The snake was winding around its legs and the kept trying to get it by the head and keep it off it's body or lay it down and stab it in the head.

    There are many times that I wish I had a video camera. My camera now can shoot video, but so far I haven't remembered to do it when I can.

    Great study of the Great Egret! You're right about the video - I get so intent on capturing a moment, I haven't developed a habit of using the video.
