When I was out on my pelagic trip this past Sunday, we came across about ten Leatherback Turtles all in the span about 15 minutes. Leatherback Turtles are huge! They are the largest living turtle, and I believe the third largest reptile--only crocodiles are larger. And strangely, all they eat are jellyfish. I think I'd get bored with that diet pretty fast, but these guys were having fun eating them. On a couple of the shots, you can see the tentacles of a jellyfish streaming from its mouth. Leatherback Turtles are critically endangered, so seeing one is pretty great, and seeing ten is better than anyone else on the boat had seen in his or her lifetime.
That is so cool! And I can see the jellyfish tentacles!
