Grackle v. Orange

This morning was a very slow morning in my office parking lot.  There wasn't much interesting going on, and birds were more heard than seen.  However, I did find one very interesting sight.  A Grackle was perched in a tree trying to pierce the skin of an orange with his bill.  He tried for a while, and as best I could tell he never succeeded.  He was sitting in deep shade, so all my pictures of him pecking at it are blurry, but some of my shots with him still are sharp.  I had to shoot as high as ISO 1250 to get sharp images, and on my Canon EOS 40D, that's really pushing it.  Thankfully the noise is not too obtrusive.
