Vermilion Flycatchers are the prettiest flycatchers I've ever seen. That red color truly sets them apart. They don't typically belong in Florida, but one spent the winter at Orlando Wetlands Park last year, and it returned this year as well. Orlando Wetlands Park is now closed for the winter, so hopefully it will stick around until it opens again in February.
Beautiful images of a gorgeous bird. When I first got into birding, we had Vermilion Flycatchers in abundance at my patch in Mesa, Arizona. I was so new to birding that I didn't know how lucky I was and I took them for granted. Now, with several more years of birding under my belt, I really miss seeing them. I have always felt that they define the color "red".
Spectacular, Scott! Wish I were there to enjoy it with you!
