Grasshopper Sparrow |
This morning I spent a little time at Marl Bed Flats again hoping to find some interesting sparrows. There were many Savannah Sparrows there, and I also found four Grasshopper Sparrows, but those were the only sparrows I found. The photos here are of the first Grasshopper Sparrow I found this morning. It flushed as I approached but did not fly far away. It stayed hidden not far from me, and I was able to focus on it through a hole in the grasses just in front of me. This is easily the closest I've been to this species. If by any chance you're interested in visiting Marl Bed Flats I wrote a
guide for the area in another
post.
