Ghost Spider

Ghost Spider
I found this spider in March 2009 when I was still living in Maryland. I was photographing the leaf when the spider moved into the frame. Not that I'm complaining; this photo has become one my favorite wildlife images. I found out today from bugguide.net that this is probably one of 37 species of Ghost Spider (family Anyphaenidae). This guy is probably immature; it's a very small but fantastic-looking spider, and just the fact that they're called ghost spiders makes them extra cool. Below I cropped the the above image just in case you wan to see a close up of the spider.
