Prairie Warbler
A fellow birder reported seeing a Blackpoll Warbler at Mead Gardens this morning. I was unable to do any birding this morning, but when I read that I decided to visit in the afternoon. I spent almost two hours there, and I had a pretty good time.  I saw five warbler species there, the most I've seen anywhere in the last couple weeks. I saw a Common Yellowthroat, Northern Parula, Prairie Warbler, Amerian Redstart and a Magnolia Warbler. I also saw a male Blue Grosbeak.  Unfortunately, I didn't get presentable photos of the Blue Grosbeak or the Magnolia Warbler.

  1. Hi Scott  as you say not really exciting but better than it has been

I find that I am disapointed during the visit but when I look at my photos or recall the list I think, you know what that is not bad

also it only takes the one special sighting to make your day

I am back off to the UK now until October, I will miss Mead gardens and the friendly birders I have met there

I will be following on the internet

    Have a great summer

    Best regards

  3. Thanks so much, Davey.  Yes, just getting the Magnolia was worth it.
