Common Yellowthroat
My son and I had a commitment this morning, so I was unable to go birding this morning.  However, since we were in East Orlando anyway, we dropped by Orlando Wetlands Park before coming home.  It was 12:30pm before we got there, so we didn't have prime birding weather, and my son is not much of a birder, so we walked fast and stopped little.  My son seemed to enjoy kicking fire ant mounds more than anything else.  So this was more a father-son thing than a birding-photography thing.  Anway, I saw nothing out of the ordinary today, but I wasn't expecting to be able to go at all, so it was all good.  And, I think I captured my best photo of a male Common Yellowthroat.

  1. Great pictures as always. That Common Yellowthroat is, as you mentioned, especially good. It's a beautiful bird and sometimes is underrated in the warbler world. I have not been able to get anything passable with the Yellowthroats, so it's great to see it done well.
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thanks so much for the compliment. I do feel rather lucky. As underrated as they are, I love them--I think they're beautiful, but I had nothing really presentable of a male until yesterday. I may do some more work on this one too.
